Shoreham Chronic Pain Clinic is a multilingual, multi-disciplined team of professionals, equipped with modern and objective measurement tools and instruments to assess neurocognitive, psychological and physiological impairments and functioning in children and adults. Mildly to moderately impaired patients who sustained a traumatic injury receive reliable clinician administered tests. Through a dynamic assessment approach, Shoreham Chronic Pain Clinic has developed an interactive means of evaluating the patients’ modifiability in order to help them plan appropriate goals and help them regain control of their lives.
Our team provides a therapeutic atmosphere with objective assessment tools in a sympathetic setting . Shoreham Medical Team
The Shoreham Medical Team is responsible for the assessment and potential treatment of neurocognitive, psychological and physiological impairments and functioning in children and adults.
S.W. Joseph Wong M.D., F.R.C.P. (C)., has been conducting Independent Medical Evaluations since 2001 and is an experienced Worker’s Compensation Board Assessor for Non-Economic Loss (NEL) evaluator. He is a member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, Physiatrist Association of Spine and Sports and Occupational Rehabilitation.
M.K. Joseph Kwok, M.D., F.R.C.S. (C)., Specialty: Orthopaedic Surgery, Hospital Affiliation: Humber River Regional Hospital, Director (until 2006) – DAC 1022 (Designated Assessment Centre) NEL assessor for WSIB.
- Victor Fiorillo, M.D. Specialty in Family Medicine. Dr. Fiorillo has extensive experience in post-injury musculoskeletal problems. Functional studies and laboratory tests are necessary for assessment of post-injury conditions.
Tajedin Yenus Getahun, B.Sc, M.D., F.R.C.S. (C)., has full privileges at Trillium Health Centre since 2007. He was also Clinical Associate with admitting privileges at Sunnybrook Hospital.
Ravi Kakar is a physician fully licensed to practice in the Province of Ontario as a Psychiatric Specialist and a member of the Canadian Medical Protective Association. Dr. Kakar maintains an active practice in general psychiatry and practices in Independent Psychiatric Evaluations in the area of STD, LTD, and medico-legal assessments. He has been a Specialist Psychiatrist since 1992. Dr. Kakar has 30 years experience as a consultant psychiatrist and is fully licensed by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.
- DR.Hien TA, is a medical practitioner duly licensed to practice medicine unrestricted in the province of Ontario. Dr. Ta holds current certification in the Royal College of Physicians of Canada as well as the College of Family Physicians of Canada; he is practicing anesthesiologist and Chief of the Department of Anesthesiology at Mackenzie Health hospital in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Additionally, he has developed expertise in chronic pain medicine. He has been assessed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario for a medical practice focused on Chronic Pain Management and a scope of practice approved to include Chronic Pain Management.
Psycho Vocational / Transference Skills / Job Placement Team
Our vocational team specializes in conducting psychovocational, education, aptitude, personality, intellectual and special interest assessments to help clients discover new careers in life. In addition, our team helps individuals understand how their interests and skills can help them make better choices. Our team performs working, function and employability testing.
Peter Li Preti, M.A., M.Ed., Ph.D., has extensive experience conducting MVA assessments of emotional , neurocognitive or behavioral disturbances by psychotherapeutic means ,delivered through a therapeutic relationship based primarily on verbal or non-verbal communication . Li Preti has been in private practice since 1984 with particular focus in MVA/Trauma and pain assessment and management.
- Raymond Wong, Occupational Therapist, His goal is to assist clients to develop an independent, productive and fulfilling life. Our occupational therapist is helpful in accessing both home and work environments. Those clients who have suffered a physical, mental or emotional disability are helped to improve in areas such as motor functioning, social skills, visual acuity, dexterity and memory.
- Manuel Lupea is a Physiotherapist with several years of experience treating orthopedic/post-surgical/sports injuries patients. Mr. Lupea has experience in manual therapy and therapeutic exercise prescription and is registered member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Orthopaedic Division.
Physical Rehabilitation Team
Our physical rehabilitation team aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities.
Donald Wong, B.Sc., D.C. DAC., graduated with “Magna Cum Laude” in 2006 from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Dr. Wong is a member in good standing with several professional organizations . He has published a number of papers in his field of study. He is an accomplished professional who is well respected by his peers and well liked by his patients.
Neuropsychology Team
Clinical neuropsychology uses an extensive variety of sensitive well standardized procedures to test brain behaviour relationships in patients. The object is to detect or confirm the presence of brain dysfunction and to describe the type and extent of behavioural impairments in patients of all ages.
Romeo Vitelli, Ph.D., C.Psych., is a Forensic Neuropsychologist and specializes in assessing head injuries and malingering. Dr. Vitelli practices at The Millwork Correctional Centre and is responsible for forensic and clinical assessments.
- Dr. John H. Gilman is a Research Psychologist by training with expertise in Physiological Psychology and Psychophysiology. He has Postdoctoral Training in Clinical Neuropsychology and provides Catastrophic Impairment Evaluations through his Company “Neurocognitive Assessment & Treatment.” He provides Med Legal Consultation Services through this company to Shoreham chronic pain that include Psycho Emotional and Neuropsychological Evaluations.
Driving Rehabilitation Assessment and Treatment Team
Our driving rehabilitation team helps individuals facing challenges caused by a disability or age to achieve safe, independent driving or transportation options through education and potential treatment.
Azmaray Nadi, Driving Instructor, is fully licensed as both in-car instructor and in-class instructor. He has completed his certification of the Driving School Classroom Instructor Course. He has 8 years experience as a driving instructor at Hi-Tech driver education.
- Aurora Cando provides an essential service by mapping out areas of transit prior to the desensitization program. Aurora maps the easy, and more difficult routes, according to the recommendations of the psychologist’s report by travelling to the patient’s home and selecting first local roads, increasing them to arterial and highways, where warranted.
Jonathan helps to identify in the preassessment phase the coping mechanisms of the injured individual such as deep breathing, listening to calming music, or avoiding driving during stressful times etc. to support these victims begin to return to a pre-accident life. Jonathan is involved in the pre testing to help reduce stressors and recommend full assessments. Jonathan will help identify the kind of treatment planning, which may include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure therapy, relaxation training, or a combination of approaches to help reduce anxiety and improve driving confidence.
Psychometrists / Educational Consultants and Psychotherapy Team
Our Psychotherapy and Psychometrists team is responsible for the isolation and treatment of psychological ailments. Our team is equipped with a wide variety of tools and methods to promote healthy recovery.
Franca Li Preti, B.Ed., H.B.A., M.Ed., Franca has worked for the Toronto District Catholic School Board for 36 years. She is an experienced teacher in all levels of school curriculum and has extensive knowledge of exceptional students and adolescent needs. She was also employed as an assessment and programming teacher and conducted hundreds of educational assessments. Currently, Franca is a member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counselors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists (OACCPP).
Victoria Ferri holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Neuroscience from
the University of Toronto. She is currently also completing a Master’s degree in
Counselling Psychology, with registration as a Registered Psychotherapist
(Qualifying). Victoria’s experience working alongside international leading
experts in concussion research, medical advisory boards and practitioners
specialized in neurological disorders has provided her with a deep understanding
of how brain injuries, chronic pain, and complex trauma intersect and impact
mental health. Victoria has also worked closely with individuals who have
experienced significant trauma and displacement, gaining insight into the layered
nature of trauma and its psychological and physiological effects. By combining a
neuroscience-informed and trauma-sensitive approach with evidence-based
modalities, Victoria helps clients to navigate the emotional, cognitive, and
physical challenges of recovery, fostering resilience and healing in a
compassionate, client-centered space.
Yasmin Yousefi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis
from Florida Tech University. She is also certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with
expertise in working with both adults and children.
Yasmin’s professional journey began with providing therapeutic support to children with diverse
and comorbid diagnoses, specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-
Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). She subsequently expanded her practice to mental
health work, focusing on individuals experiencing stress-related conditions, with a particular
emphasis on Hoarding Disorder and addressing unlivable environments.
Her approach is grounded in evidence-based methodologies and reflects a commitment to
neurodiversity-affirming care. Yasmin is currently in the process of registration with the College
of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the College of Psychologists and
Behavior Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO).
Francisco Duque, in addition to developing expertise in working as a
Law Clerk and Paralegal, he has also developed experience in mental health practice.
He has over 15 years of experience working with marginalized communities and people
dealing with mental health issues. Additionally, Francisco has developed expertise in
conflict mediation , training training in conflict resolution and customer service.
Midhu Madhukumar is a registered social worker at the Ontario College of Social Work and
Social Service Work. She holds a Masters degree in Social Work and has a college certificate
in Addictions and Mental Health. With four years of experience, she has dedicated her career
to working with people with severe mental health illnesses, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress
disorder. Her skills in crisis intervention, therapeutic communication, and trauma-informed
care equip her to effectively support and empower her clients.
Mobina Karimi, is a highly motivated and enthusiastic therapist who is studying psychology at York University. She is pursuing a Degree in Behaviour Analysis directly related to children and adolescents. Mobina is an experienced immigration consultant who applies her knowledge of refugee needs to help recent newcomers to Canada by giving emotional and cognitive support.
Mobina conducts comprehensive research on controversial topics , integrating an in-depth literature review for empirical analysis in an effort to help recent immigrants remain in Canada.
Meenakshi Thiagarajan holds a Degree in Addictions and Mental Health and has extensive experience in mental health and public health, with a focus on trauma-informed care for individuals facing chronic pain and mental health challenges.
Meenakshi’s professional journey began with supporting diverse populations in navigating mental health challenges, offering personalized care that emphasizes self-empowerment, resource navigation, and self-advocacy. Over time, her focus expanded to mental health work at the Shoreham Chronic Pain Clinic in Toronto, where she provides compassionate care to individuals managing the intersection of physical, mental and emotional health and well-being.
Meenakshi is also experienced in leading workshops on resilience, mental wellness, and coping strategies, creating spaces that encourage growth and confidence. Her approach is rooted in community-driven care and a strong commitment to accessible, inclusive services. Currently, she continues to expand her expertise and contribute to improving the quality of care in the mental health field.
Augusta Russo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Neuroscience, with a focus on dementia and cognitive impairment. With extensive experience enhancing the quality of life for seniors with dementia and supporting their families, Augusta specializes in helping individuals overcome cognitive and emotional difficulties. Her work is grounded in evidence-based practice, incorporating mindfulness and a person-centered approach.

Our Chronic Pain team is responsible for providing pain management through a variety of methods involving assessment, care, education and research.
Wong Donald D.C., is a duly qualified chiropractor and is a specialist in rehabilitation as a member of the Chiropractic College of Rehabilitation Sciences. He is also a member of the American Academy of Pain Management and a Senior Disability Analyst of the American Academy of Disability Evaluating Professionals. Dr. Wong has extensive experience in treating patients with musculoskeletal injuries since 2010. He has specific expertise in treating patients suffering as a result of a motor vehicle related accident. He has been conducting independent chiropractic assessments from both a medical/rehabilitation and disability perspective .

- Julie Raggiunti is an experienced nutritional consultant who has worked in the medical field all her life. She is able to counsel patients with their daily diets, provides educational materials and assigns homework to the participants through one-on-one counseling. New nutritional information and pamphlets are distributed to all participants. In-home assistance with cooking and implementing P.S.W intervention strategies. over provider .
- Elnaz Zarin excellent academic knowledge in the field of kinesiology in addition to my great communication skills in multiple languages. Elnaz holds a bachelor degree from York University in kinesiology and health sciences. She utilizes Yoga treatments which are beneficial for patients who develop severe physical pain. In addition she provides services to reduce muscle tension and stiffness , easing pain in areas such lower back , neck and joints through kinesiology.
